Follow the steps below to create your workers. Your workers will be able to see all active jobs and allocate their time to the active subheadings within the jobs.
Creating a worker
- Select the person icon in the top right corner.
- Select 'Settings' from the drop down box.
- Under the 'People' heading, select 'People'.
- From the 'People' tab, click on 'Workers' in the box on the left.
- Click the green '+ Add' button in top right corner.
- Enter in the workers details and use the cost calculator to calculate their hourly costs whilst on site.
- When you have entered all worker details, click the 'Create' button.
- There are 2 types of workers; Hourly workers & Contract workers
- When hourly workers enter in their timesheets their costs are automatically captured to the job, their timesheets also appear in the Payroll report.
- When contract workers enter their timesheets their hours are captured against the job, when they send you their invoice, you can then allocate this to the job and subheading to capture their costs on the job.
- Note: A Contract worker would be considered someone who works for you irregularly as a one off, an hourly worker would be considered someone who is regularly working for you including those RWT workers and GST workers.
- There are 2 types of workers; Hourly workers & Contract workers
- Once the worker is created, a 6-character code will be generated to allow the worker to sign in.
- Text or email this code to your worker. Let them know to download the Step Up Projects app ''My Step Up Projects'' from their mobile app store. They can then login using this worker code.
- If their code gets compromised, or needs to be reset, you can click the regenerate button and text or email the new code to your worker.
Foreman and admin workers
If a worker is a foreman or administrative staff, they will need permissions beyond just logging their hours on the timesheet app. For the sake of security, workers with extra permissions need a User Account.
Please see Setting up Users to learn how to create and allocate User Permissions.
