Profit margins are percentages that define your desired profit margins on each type of section. Generally, this margin will be used to calculate quote figures from a budget.
The Profit Margin you set in your settings will be your default Profit Margin for all project and tasks. You are though able to adjust the default profit margin to suit a particular project, task or child task.
Projects
- Underneath the rest of the 'Settings' menu, you will see a box titled 'Profit margins', set with your default percentages. Here you can overwrite your default percentage for each heading by ticking the overwrite box on the right hand side of each line. Doing this here will only adjust the percentage for this project.
- When you have made these changes, always remember to click 'Save profit margins' before exiting the tab.
Tasks and subtasks
- You are also able to overwrite the default profit margins in each task and subtasks. By selecting a task and clicking the 'Settings' tab, you will see your default profit margins. Here you can overwrite that default and enter a new percentage for each heading by ticking the 'Overwrite' box on the right hand side of each line.
- When you have made these changes, always remember to click 'Save profit margins' before exiting the tab.
