How to create a new Project in Step Up Projects.

Create a Project
- Select 'Projects' at the top of your page
- Select the green 'New' button in the top right hand corner.
- Add the details:
- Name (required)
- Contract type (required)
- Reference
- Address
- Start date (required)
- Description
- Once the details are entered, select 'Create Project' to complete the creation process.
- You can also tick the box labelled 'Open project after creation' if you wish to open the project immediately.
- To start working on a project, select it from your project list, or tick the box labelled 'Open project after creation' on the project creation window.
Creating an Estimate
- Select 'Estimates' from the taskbar on the left hand side.
- Click the green 'Create new Estimate' in the top right corner.
- Enter the details from your estimate:
- Name - what the estimate is for
- Merchant - the materials provider for the estimate
- Clicking the two triangles at the end of the 'Merchant' box opens a menu of common materials providers
- Once the details are entered, select 'Create Estimate' to complete the creation process.
- You can also tick the box labelled 'Open estimate after creation' if you wish to open the estimate immediately.
Import unlinked estimates from Pricing
The estimates created in the 'Pricing' module can be linked to projects from the 'Estimates' tab.
Select the applicable estimates for the project from the dropdown list. Importing these estimates will link them with the selected project.
- Click 'Import unlinked estimates from Pricing'.
- In the dropdown box select the estimate you would like to link to your project.
- You are able to select multiple estimates to import.
- Click 'Import selected estimates'.
- Your newly imported estimate/s will be listed in the 'Estimate' menu.
Actions Menu
- To make changes to an estimate, select the three dots
under the heading 'Actions'. This will bring up 5 actions you can perform.
- Edit - This will allow you to edit your estimate name, address, status of your estimate, or to delete it.
- Duplicate - This will duplicate your estimate/make another copy.
- Import Template - This is where you will import your own take-off templates.
- Import Materials - This is where you will import your take-off from your merchant.
- Generate tasks - Once you have imported your own take-off or your merchants take-off, by selecting this option all the subheadings in your project will become tasks that you and your workers can time-sheet against.

- Select Import Template to import your Own take-off
Import materials - Merchant take-off
- From the 'Actions' drop down menu, select 'Import materials'.
- Select the drop down box.
- A take-off completed by Quantifier or ITM will appear in the drop down list.
- Click 'Upload new file' to upload a take-off from Bunnings, PlaceMakers, or Mitre10.
- Click 'Import Materials'.
- Once the take-off is uploaded, when you select your project you can continue to price your estimate and add in:
- Misc. Templates
- Subcontractor Quotes
- Sums
- Overhead Templates
- Once you have completed pricing your estimate and have added the applicable templates you can move to the export page and finish the presentation of your estimate for tender.
- Add your company logo
- Write your introduction quote
- Select how much detail you want to be shown in your estimate
- Choose to show your markup/margin or pro rata it through your estimate
- Add any additional notes/footer notes
- Download as PDF
Import template - Your own take-off
- From the 'Actions' drop down menu, select 'Import template'
- In the drop down box select the templates you would like to import into your Estimate. You can select multiple
- Select import
- Once the take-off is uploaded, when you select your project you can continue to price your estimate and add in:
- Misc. Templates
- Subcontractor Quotes
- Sums
- Overhead Templates
- Once you have completed pricing your estimate and have added the applicable templates you can move to the export page and finish the presentation of your estimate for tender.
- Add your company logo
- Write your introduction quote

Financials - Versions
- When you make changes to your estimates financials you will be able to create a new version of your budget and quote.
- Select 'Financials' from the taskbar on the left hand side.
- If changes have been made to your estimates financials you will see this blue box stating how many changes have been made to your budget and quote, and asking if you would like to create a version.
- By selecting 'Create a version', you will see what changes have been made, which you can confirm by pressing 'Create version'.
- Once you have created a new version of the budget, it will be displayed along with the version number.
- Follow the same steps in the 'Quote' to create new quote versions.
Generating Tasks from your Estimate
Tasks can be generated directly from your estimates.
- From the 'Actions' menu, select 'Generate Tasks'. This will push all your subheadings in your estimate to the tasks page so they can be timesheeted against.
Creating Tasks
You are able to manually create tasks. This can be done at any point, before creating an estimate or after.
- Select 'Tasks' from the taskbar on the left hand side.
- Enter the name of the task in the text box and click 'Add task'.
- You can continue to add tasks by clicking 'Add task', typing the task name and clicking 'Add' or pressing 'Enter' on your keyboard.
- By clicking the '+' next to a task you are able to create subtasks.
- Tasks are able to have any many levels of subtasks as you would like.
Re-order your Project List
Once you have built up a project list, you will be able to simply drag and drop the projects in an order that suits your business.
