Creating your own Takeoff & Adding it to a Project
Creating Own Take-off Template
Navigate to 'Settings' in the top right menu.
Select 'Own takeoff' under 'Estimate settings' on the taskbar on the left.
Select your merchant from the drop-down box, then click 'Add' when your merchant is selected.
Type in the name of the template, for example wall/extension/roofing/stairs etc.
Select your merchant from the drop down box.
Then click 'Save'.
Select the newly created template to highlight it, then click on 'Populate template'.
In the new window, click 'Add Products' in the bottom left corner.
Expand the relevant subheading by clicking the plus sign.
For example, if we are creating a template for Wall Framing, we would look for a Framing subheading to expand.
Look for the products and applicable usages, and click to select them.
Once all products have been selected, click 'Add X Items' in the bottom right. The number will change to however many products you have selected.
You can add items from all relevant subheadings at one time, or repeat this process for each individual subheading required.
We recommend you leave out the product price and leave the quantity at 0 within the template. When you import the template into an estimate it will pull your most up-to-date pricing from your Material Rate section, and you can then populate the quantity per the estimate.
Adding additional products to a subheading
Expand the subheading you would like to add products to by using the blue arrow.
Click 'Add'.
Search for your product. Searching via product code is most accurate
Apply the applicable usage to that product
Click 'Add.'
Once finished, close the box by clicking on the red X in the top right corner.
Adding Own Take-off Template to a Project
Create a new Project (or open an existing one)
Choose 'New.'
Enter the name, address, start date and description
Select your Project and navigate to the Estimates section.
Select 'Create new estimate'.
Enter the estimate's name and select the merchant, then click 'Create estimate'.
Under the 'Actions' heading, click the three dots.
From the drop-down menu, select 'Import Template'.
Select the applicable template/s from the drop-down options, then click 'Import'.
Enter your estimate to continue populating your template with quantities. The pricing will populate with you most up-to-date prices, so it is recommended that you have your trade hub open to get the most up to date prices and to accurately price your job.
